- Water as needed
II. For the filling:
- 1 cup paneer chopped in cubes
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- 3 tbsp Garni Dhaniya Powder
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp oil
- Garni Black Pepper Powder
- Salt
Note: You need a steamer to make momos.
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually add water to the mixture and keep kneading it to form a soft dough.
- Then, cover the dough and leave it be for about half an hour.
- Meanwhile, prepare the filling. In a pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add the diced garlic and the grated pieces of ginger.
- Sauté the ingredients for a minute or so.
- Now, add paneer to the pan. Keep the same heat until it is soft and has blended with the flavours of ginger and garlic somewhat.
- Add green chillies, soy sauce, Garni Dhaniya Powder, salt, and Garni Black Pepper Powder to the mixture.
- Mix it all well and keep cooking for another couple minutes.
- Now, turn off the heat and let it cool.
- Divide the rested dough into small portions and roll each portion into a circle about 3-4 inches in diameter.
- Place a spoonful of the filling mixture in the center of each rolled dough circle.
- To shape the momos, begin by folding the circle in half and sealing the edges to form a half-moon shape. Then, fold the edges to seal them completely.
- Repeat the process with the remaining dough and filling.
- Steam the momos in a steamer for about 8-10 minutes until they become translucent and cooked thoroughly.
- Serve the momos hot with a dipping sauce of your choice, such as soy sauce, chili sauce, or tomato chutney.
Enjoy your homemade momos!
