Made with Garni Unpolished 100% Natural Moong Dhuli, this dish tastes awesome! Give this main dish recipe a try.

Ingredients :

  • 1 pack of Garni Unpolished Moong Dhuli
  • 2.5 Litres of water
  • ¾ teaspoon Garni Turmeric Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Garni Cumin Powder
  • 4 tomatoes, sliced and chopped
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 and a half teaspoons of salt
  • 1 and a half teaspoons Garni Whole Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Garni Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 Garni Cinnamon sticks
  • 8 Garni Green Cardamom

Instructions :

  • Rinse the lentil, add water, and bring to a boil in a large sauce pan.
  • Lower heat and add turmeric, cumin, tomatoes and salt, partially cover, and simmer for about 70 minutes. Check periodically and add more water if lentils get dry.
  • In a small pan, heat the butter and add the cumin seeds, chillis, bay leaves, cinnamon stick and cardamom seeds and let them sizzle for 1 minute.
  • Add to the lentils, stir, and let sit for about 5 minutes before serving with basmati or brown basmati rice.
